Holiday!

I’ve taken this week off and fully intend to not think about work until next week! Today we went to the West Midlands Safari Park. All in all it was a good day out. Georgina took lots of photos and Jon and Ben seemed to enjoy themsleves. The giraffes were to be found in the middle of the road eating snacks through the sunroofs which was funny. The elephants had an electric “cattle grid” between themselves and the road which spoke volumes about what an angry elephant can do to a car…

Finished

The extension is done and livable in now. A few minor snags to be taken care of before I pay the final bill and then we can concentrate on paying for it!
Finished!

Privatisation by another name?

Have I missed something or is getting operations done by the private sector a form of privatisation? If it’s better/cheaper to use the private sector, why don’t we make all operations private? If it’s not better/cheaper, then why on earth is the Government wasting our money on them?

I have a suspicion that it’s being done solely to get the headline waiting list number down.

Floor!

The floor has been laid in the kitchen finally!

We are now living in all of the extension and even had our first meal in our new kitchen-diner this evening.

Momentous!

Today a most momentous thing happened! Jon turned four years old! My son is growing up and doing a very nice job of despite our parenting. He had a good haul of presents this morning too and is really happy with his Playmobil ambulance and rocket ship toy :)

Apathy

Anyone else think this election is most characterised by the word “apathy” ? Round our way there’s barely any party posters in people’s houses for any of the candidates. Not that you can tell the difference between any of the main parties anyway.
