Op Went Fine

Dad had his operation on Monday – it was a quadruple bypass in the end. Mum, Jen and I went up to see him yesterday and he’s doing fine. With any luck he’ll be discharged by next Monday.

Op Date Set

Dad’s operation has been set for Monday. I went down with Jon to see him today and he’s fine. Will go down on Tuesday to see him after the op next.

Dad

Dad’s in hospital at the moment waiting for a heart by-pass operation. I went down to see him yesterday and he’s in fine fettle. It’s all a bit odd really. He went in for a scan a few days ago and was told that he couldn’t go home until he’d had the operation. The can’t tell him when the operation will be – he’s in a queue. What I can’t work out is why this week he has to be in hospital, but last week he was able to be at home. *shrug* what do I know?!

Productive Weekend

This has been quite a productive weekend. Yesterday, a new piece of funiture arrived yesterday to help us keep the kid’s toys under control. Being organised, I built it whilst Ben was asleep and then we filled it pretty much immediately!

Today, I sorted out my wardrobe and ditched all the clothes that I’m never going to wear again due to them being too worn, broken or too small. As a result, I have lots more space!

The Aftermath

I couldn’t believe how tiring this year’s Christmas Day hs been. Jon ensured that we were up at 5am on Christmas morning to the shout of “I’VE GOT PRESENTS!!!!”. Very cute to see his excitement, less cute to deal with the overtired and excited child 8 hours later!

For the first time, we had Christmas at our house and invited Georgina’s Mother and partner over. Georgina did the whole Christmas dinner thing which was excellent and I did the whole pouring drinks thing which was also good. Even though I seemed to be the only one needing refills….

For Jon and Ben, we got them a wooden train set table thingy (See this picture!). Their faces, especially Jon’s, when they came downstairs and saw it was wonderful. It almost made up for the hassle of building it Christmas Eve! They also did well with other presents from family, especially their grandparents. Now all we need to do is work out how to get them to play with different toys rather than both going for the same toy at the time…
